July 20 - Moncton to PEI to Amherst, N.S.

We left Moncton NB today and headed off to PEI.  The Confederation bridge was spectacular, it took 15 minutes to cross it at 80 km an hour.  PEI is beautiful and the ground is really as red as you have seen in pictures.  It would have been easy to spend days exploring the island but the Cabot Trail is calling to us.  Today we covered three provinces; started in NB went to PEI and ended in Nova Scotia.  We travelled to Charlottetown and walked around a little before we headed to Cavendish, the home of L.M. Montgomery of Anne of Green Gables fame.  When we got there Noreen and Gabriele went into the park, the boys did not – not their thing!!  We then went to Cavendish Beach and Walter and I swam in the 16C water.  It felt fantastic and we could have spent days there floating in the ocean. We had an awesome day and we are really looking forward to getting to the Cabot trail tomorrow.  More to come tomorrow.
